I can’t imagine going through what you described but I resonate with the importance of cutting the person off completely. It’s so like us to want to leave one tiny crack of possibility of re-connection even when we know better. and no matter how tiny that crack, darn if we don’t slip through it! we have to outsmart ourselves which is why the support groups I’ve been in like Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous advice doing a NO CONTACT. no cracks. Solid boundaries. Nothing to slip through. and we go cold turkey off the relationship. Bam! it’s hard. but worth it! thanks for baring your soul. all the best!
