Thank you, Shannon for answering a question I had but was afraid to ask. If it’s true that sex is a success-making topic , it’s not about the writer, it’s about the readers and what piques their interest. If we wrote a sexy headline but did not deliver, we wouldn’t get the claps. And just because the topic is sex, it does not mean it’s titillating. (If it was, that might be considered erotica. Is there an erotica topic on Medium? I haven’t looked. Perhaps I will, but that’s a whole ‘nother thing.) Imagine, me a sex and love addict who forgot to check if there is erotica here!!! I take it as a sign of my recovery. By far my most successful article has the word sex in the title, but it’s not about the sex. Actually that is the title and it is about my addiction and recovery.
Your perspective and retrospective is very helpful. thank you for embedding the posts so we can see examples of successful writing and learn from them. some writers say keeping to one or two niches here is the key to success, but you prove that our diverse interests and experience is well worth blogging about! Bravo!
